THE MOST EFFICIENT RZR XP TURBO KIT
Back in 2008 we revolutionized the UTV market by the adaptation of variable-vane technology to the quickly saturated RZR turbo market. While there where many options for turbocharging the RZR, only one turbo system provided a compact and efficient package void of turbo lag or long term reliability issues. Our trubo system for the first generation RZR was a great success not only for it's ease of installation and it's reliability, but it's superior performance. In fact we did many industry firsts with our RZR turbo system such as being the first to incorporate modular components, utilize a turbo cradle, use Donaldson canister filters, use Air/Water intercoolers, and of course we were the first and only manufacturer to utilize variable-vane technology. Once these trends were started many other manufacturers attempted to imitate our turbo system and it's superior design but none could match the new standard for performance and responsiveness that we had set.

Now, 3-years later, the Polaris RZR has been reborn in the form of the 900 XP. A machine superior in every way to the first generation RZR and RZR-S. This newly developed machine has been designed to squeeze out the most naturally aspirated power possible and requires a different approach for turbocharging. While other manufacturers have chosen to simply bolt onto the existing exhaust, we avoided this at all costs. The reason for this is the fact that the factory header connection is not the right diameter or even in an appropriate location to make an efficient exhaust flow into the turbocharger which limits responsiveness and creates lag. The proper solution is to create a better flowing exhaust by redesigning the collector to better suit exhaust flow into the turbine and to locate the turbocharger in a more efficient location. Thus eliminating any unnecessary bends from the equation. On the muffler side we utilize a large, sweeping radius exiting the turbo so as to limit the disruption of exhaust flow.

In our previous RZR turbo systems it was a big request from our customers to have the entire turbo system under the bed. We wanted to continue this trend with the XP by having no components protrude above the bed to interfere with bed space, custom cages, or even the driver's rear viewing angle. To do this we created a highly efficient airbox with an integral Air/Water intercooler. This unit provides more than adequate volume for torque and throttle response while allowing for the coldest air temps possible in any given situation. No charge tubes to slow boost response and no Air/Air intercooler to get clogged up with dirt and mud. A Bosch blow-off valve is also standard on the air box to ensure the fastest turbo response when getting off and on the throttle.

The value of canister filters has been proven in numerous environments. This is why we designed our XP turbo system to utilize the Donaldson industrial grade canister filters as standard equipment. The Donaldson mounts directly to the mouth of the turbo and pulls fresh air from the factory intake location just above the left rear fender.

Our RZR XP turbo systemm comes complete with everything needed, even for installation. There are a number of standard components found in our kit that are not offered by other manufacturers such as a wide-band oxygen sensor and gauge as well as a boost gauge for no additional charge. We include a billet gauge mounting plate which provides extra space for additional aftermarket accessories or gauges. Also standard with every one of our XP turbo system is our custom adjustable clutching system to allow the end user to dial in their clutching exactly the way they need it.

As with all of our turbo systems, we developed our XP turbo with full data-logging to ensure precise performance and a perfect match between the turbo and the engine. While other turbo kit manufacturers include a more affordable turbocharger, this doesn't always represent a good match to the engine displacement. This causes turbo lag and inefficiencies which sacrifice performance for lower costs. Our XP turbo system utilizes an Aerocharger designed specifically for this application, resulting in a perfect match for the best throttle response and no turbo lag.

notes
Before purchasing any kind of turbo system it's always a good idea to check your local EPA regulations. The Aerocharger is the only turbocharger designated by the National Forest Service as an effective spark arrestor. According to the latest Spark Arrestor Guide for Off-Highway Vehicles (OHV):

"Turbochargers qualify as effective spark arrestors only when 100% of the exhaust gases pass through the turbine wheel. The turbine wheel must be turning at all times during engine operation and there must be no exhaust bypass to the atmosphere."

Conventional turbochargers, be it internal or external wastegate, do not qualify as spark arrestors and therefore require a spark arrestor of some sort. The Aerocharger however utilizes 100% of the exhaust gases at all times, even at max boost. This not only means better effecincy and faster response, but also means that you automatically abide by your local spark arrestor laws.
